The Israel Free Loan Association is a an Israeli non-profit organization located in Jerusalem dedicated to providing interest-free loans to individuals, families, businesses and non-profit organizations in need. The association grants more than 350 loans every month.
The IFLA is not politically affiliated.
The IFLA is registered and approved by the Israel Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Finance. Donations are tax-deductible in Israel and some other countries. The association is managed by a small paid staff (many of whom are immigrants themselves), supported by many experienced and dedicated volunteers.
Because of our contribution to the welfare of the citizens of Israel, the IFLA was chosen as recipient of the Mayor of Jerusalem's Citation for Outstanding Non-Profit Voluntary Organization for 1995. We were chosen for this honor by the Municipality of Jerusalem, the Council for Non-Profit Voluntary Organizations, and the Israel Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare.
The IFLA has also received the prestigious "Presidential Citation for Volunteer Activity", the "Ministry of Immigrant Absorption Award for Aid to New Immigrants" and the "Sderot Conference Award for Contribution to Israeli Society".
The IFLA is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors, chaired by Prof. Eliezer Jaffe, and assisted by a volunteer Reference Committee composed of outstanding Israeli personalities in the fields of education and immigrant absorption. All activities of the IFLA are monitored by the Board of Directors, a CPA and a lawyer, as required by Israeli law for non-profit organizations.
